#NCSS2018 @NCSSNetwork

This past year, I have changed jobs and taken the position of Social Studies Instructional Specialist. The job is very much like my last job (Innovation and Digital Learning Coach), just with a Social Studies twist. Essentially, I work with Social Studies teachers to help them figure out how to grow as educators. I help teachers set goals and I use data to target instruction for each individual teacher I work with. All of this means that I need to be aware of best and promising practices in Social Studies education so that I can share ideas and resources with teachers based on their individual area of growth.

In just a few days I will be attending NCSS … which is THE place to be for Social Studies educators. While I am there, I’d like to learn as much as I can to share with my teachers when I get back. As I was looking for sessions to take yesterday, I realized that I have some choices to make. The NCSS guidebook lists what seems like hundreds of sessions for each time slot …  maybe hundreds is an exaggeration, but >50 per time slot is still quite a few to choose from. That being said, I have made my initial selection and I wanted to share my tentative schedule with you.

I do need your help, though. If you were going to NCSS, which of the following sessions would you choose? I have narrowed down the list quite a bit … but since I can’t be in 5 places at once, I’d love your feedback! Please leave a comment with suggestions for my schedule!
