This past Saturday we held our 3rd #edcampNoVA. I’m one of the original organizers for this day of learning for educators in our area and each and every time I am amazed at the power of connecting that happens at an edcamp.
We gathered on a Saturday morning, bright and early. Some of our educators came from as far as 2.5 hours away! We talked, had some coffee and breakfast (all donated by businesses that value the work educators do every day!) and generated dozens of ideas. After organizing these into sessions and gathering spaces, we got to work! Talking, sharing and learning from and with each other.
But most importantly! We talked. We connected. We met twitter friends that we’d been collaborating with for ages – finally connecting in person. We found new friends to learn with and reach out to when we need help. We laughed and posed for photos in our photo booth, ate snacks and crossed our fingers for luck when prizes were drawn.
